Inspirational poem Along

He's gone, that was the call I received late one evening. I knew by the
sound of the voice on the other end, his son, my nephew, that my brother-
in-law had passed on. I was living some 600 miles plus from where I had
been raised and where my sister and brother-in-law now lived.
I packed quickly and called the airlines for a ticket home. It was an
extremely sad trip, he was much more than a brother-in-law.

The Poem

God gave you to me for just a while
You caused me to laugh; to cry; to smile.
You gave me strength when I needed it most
In your quiet way, you were never to boast.

The time has come for you to leave
I'm left alone-and so I'll grieve.
Time seems to drag when you're not here
But I'll come along ; don't you worry, dear.

You’re at home in heaven above
God took you there with the touch of his love.
I'll keep going till he calls my name
And I’ll come along and we’ll be the same.

We'll share all the things that we once knew
There will be no pain for me or you.
My heart aches now that you are gone
And I think of you like a precious song.

I pray each day for the strength He gives
So that I can smile and continue to live.
I will not lose this dream of mine
To be with you till the end of time.

God will hear and answer me
And I'll be there with you and we'll both be free.
I don't know when that time will come
(When all on earth is finally done.)

But I'll come along; Just you wait and see
And we'll be together for eternity.
No more pain and no more fear
And I'll come along to our new home, dear!
