In this house wherein I live in this house to me God give
I alone can make decisions for my future.
I can dwell upon my failures, I can dream of things to come
I can set myself apart from other people.

I like Jacob in his youth can trick and lie about the truth
And steal someone else's goods away from them.
I can speak and never hear, his voice which calls to me with cheer
Change your ways and I will bless you, come to me and I will rest you

Can I like Jacob be fall up my bended knee,
Praising God for all the blessings he bestows.
Or will I turn my back with shame, and suffer all my life in pain
Not knowing God or what he has in store for me.

Will I miss that glorious time when the bells begin to chime
When the train to heaven blows its final whistle.
Will there be a place for me, or will I look and still not see
That special place that God reserved for me.
