Wintering, self deluding thoughts.

Wintering

Wintering in the north can be a killer.  I was raised in the north and I
know how dangerous it can be. The cold winds roaring in from the
artic circle, snow blowing in all directions blocking all visibility.
Tempetures dropping into the 20 to 30 degrees below zero.
Mix this all together and you have a recipe for disaster.

I have read many stories on people freezing to death,
first they are terrible cold, then as they become colder
they become sleepy, and finally fall asleep in deaths
sure hold.

We do the same mentally with our life, we at first fight the
evil that surrounds, then we come to a point of accepting it,
and finally we become the problem. The process is a slow
one, creeping up on us much like the cold artic weather to
slow our ability to see or think clearly.

Just as we take precautions when we travel in the North during
the winter, we must take precautions as we travel through life
protecting ourselves to the slowly changing process that will
lead us to disaster.

Wintering

Cold winds across the meadows blow
From north came they with icy fingers so
Their name must surely be, an icy hand for thee
From whence comes, this chill we cannot see.

It sucks away our breath and places frost upon our cheek
And frosty circles form along the creek
Nay it knows not rich man, nor the poor
And drives us toward, the fiery logs infernal roar.

It chills us to the marrow of our bones
And if we sleep we all shall freeze
as solid as the stones.
